Design, Measurements, Material
The X.STOVE is entirely made from stainless steel. With a volume of 27.5l it is only marginally smaller than a Poshehonka M Stove, but it weighs twice as much. That indicates, that the design was focused on stability and durability.
Outer measures stove body (LxWxH): 46,5 x 27,0 x 23,5cm
Weight (full scope of delivery): 14,5kg
The stove body is entirely TIG welded and carefully finished.
It rests on legs out of massive knurled 15mm stainless steel, that screw to the bod with M10 threads.
Slightly uneven ground can be compensated, to ensure a safe stand.
On the flat and reinforced top is suitable for rather big and heavy pots and pans. The foldable side grates can act as utility space for pot parking, as drying rack, carrying handles and also create some safe space around the hot stove body.
After undoing two spring charged levers on the back of the stove, the whole top can be easily taken off. This creates easy access to the inner, and allows for the use as an open firepit or barbecue.
At the same time the whole stove is very airtight and the primary vent is precisely to regulate, which enables a perfect control over the fire. That is important for a constant temperature in the tent, without the need to tweek around and shove sticks all the time. It is also very important to save firewood, and guarantees longer burns per lay.
A massive baffle plate can be inserted to cover the fume outlet. It increases the yield of warmth by extending the path of the fumes, and thus cooling them down further. In the outlet a very effective damper is located, which allows a precise control of the draft.
Chimney, Door with Window, Fire Grate
Pecision is also the right word to describe the flue pipes, which are fully felded and overlap generously. So they create a very tight and sturdy chimney, with a maximum height of 333cm, including the stove and the full scope of delivered pipes. The stove itself is 40cm tall.
The flue pipe system is completly based on 75 mm diameter.
The replaceable window pane in the door is made in Germany. It allows to keep an eye on the fire without opening the door every time, and it provides a nice ambient lighting. The pane is sealed with a proper glass rope on the top half. At the bottom air can enter through a gap and flush the pane to help keeping it free from soot, or rather burn the soot off. The door opening is generously dimensioned, so even larger woodpieces can be comfortably layed. It is equipped with a well isolated turning handle.
A removeable fire grate provides a good airflow from the bottom up, and helps burning suboptimal firewood. Beneath the grate, ashes can be removed from the stove with the delivered poker during operation.
It can also be used as a cooking grate on top of the opened stove.
Scope of Delivery, Weights
The entire scope of delivery can be stowed inside the stove.
The X.STOVE is delivered in a sturdy and well cushioned carton.
Optional Accessories
A seperately available
Isolating Tent Protector Pipe can be positioned freely on the flue pipe with thumb screws. This protection pipe is necessary for operating an X.STOVE in a
Tschum 2P Soswa or
4P Katun tent.
The
45° Elbow Pipes allow for a more flexible positioning of the X.STOVE, and as a bonus the angled pipe enhances the effectiveness of the stove. The angled pipe has more surface area inside the tent, and has more airflow around it to take the heat away. For exceptional usecases we also can supply
90° Elbow Pipes. There is a proprietary
Barbecue Grate available, which can be used on the opened stove.
Overall we consider the X.STOVE a technically mature and very well made product, which is worth its price.
